Twenty little Facts About Me

Sunday, September 7, 2014

I thought it would be fun to share a couple things about myself. If you feel like it, share some little facts about yourself in the comments below. I'd love to hear more about you!
One - I almost always have a book in my purse even if I know that, realistically, I will have zero time to read.

Two - I can't fall asleep without listening to some kind of background noise so I usually fall asleep listening to Netflix on my iPad or listening to an audiobook. I find listening to Jim Dale reading the Harry Potters books or listening to Downton Abbey to be particular favorites. I don't know why, but I find british voices to be really soothing.

Three - I dislike the dentist, the doctor, anyone who pokes and prods me and I try to avoid going at all costs.

Four - I have never dyed or highlighted my hair.

Five - Scary movies always give me nightmares, even now.  When I was younger, I used to line the side of my bed with stuffed animals thinking they would protect me from the movie monsters.

Six - I really love getting mail. I also really love sending mail so my friends tend to get a lot of handwritten cards randomly.

Seven - I really love the rain and big storms.

Eight - I didn't have my first kiss until I was 16.

Nine - My best thinking time is when I take a long bath. It's my favorite time to go over things in my head.

Ten - My favorite part of dinner is always dessert.

Eleven - I had three stitches in my head when I was 3 because I ran into the corner of a brick wall. I didn't tell anyone about it all day. My mom only noticed when she came to pick me up from preschool. She was trying to move my front bangs and discovered that they were actually dried into the cut. Safe to say, everyone had a little panic over that.

Twelve - From when I was born until the age of one, my hair stuck straight up all on its own and could not be pushed down, even with gel.

Thirteen - My favorite number is 13 because I was born on Friday the 13th.

Fourteen - My comfiest outfit is an Adult onesie pj from Nick & Nora. It's what I immediately throw on whenever I'm home from a hard day or feeling ill.

Fifteen - When I really need to focus and work, I'll close all the curtains until it is really dark and play Sounds of Nature - Thunderstorms. I do not know why, but it seems to work really well to get me motivated.

Sixteen - I will never be too old for Disneyland.

Seventeen - I am left handed and I find that it's a little bonding moment for me to find others who are also left handed.

Eighteen - I make really good Mac n' Cheese, like really good.

Nineteen - I can't sleep unless I know all the doors in the house are locked. In college, I used to text my roommate to ask if she could go check for me. She always laughed about it.

Twenty - Holidays are my absolutely favorite times of year. I love decorating and finding reasons to celebrate!

  6. Great post! I love getting know the bloggers behind the blogs. :) I think its funny how you are born on Friday the 13th, but are terrified of scary movies! Lol I don't know why I find that funny, but I do. I also try to avoid the dentist or doctors at all costs and I carry a book around even though 95% of the time I never get to read it! I guess you could say I like to be prepared for those spur of the moment time delays.

    1. Lol it's definitely an odd one! I don't hate scary movies. I actually really like watching them. They just give me horrible nightmares. My boyfriend thinks it's the funniest thing in the world that I continue to watch them, even though I know I will have awful nightmares later!

  10. The first and last fact are totally me. I have to sleep with the tv on but preferrably on a "safe" channel that doesn't have too heavy content (no law and order SVU for me) like Friends or some other sitcom. I also love celebrations which is probably why i have blog all about party planning and celebrating life.

    1. Lefties unite! And seriously, GET IT! It's literally like a super warm hug from your mom, while she pats you on the back and tells you everything is going to be okay. That is what the onesie gives! ;)
