Thank You Cards

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

I love the sentiment behind hand-written cards. Writing down your thanks can be such a powerful mechanism; For reminding yourself of all those who have helped you in the past and for putting out a message of gratitude out in the world (of all the things to put out in the world, gratitude is always a good one). However, the stack of handwritten 'Thank You' cards I had growing up were boring, the obligatory boring 'thank you' cards for birthday gifts as a kid. Now that I am a full-fledged adult, I found that my dislike of 'Thank You' cards was simply because I hadn't found ones that made me excited to write! As soon as I discovered the wide world of Notecards, I was smitten. Since then, I find any and every excuse to compose a hand-written note to express a thought or my gratitude. Here are some of my favorite Thank You cards of the moment!

  1. YES. It could be the designer in me, but I love love love cards now that I'm grown up haha. When I was a kid I thought cards were SO lame, but now I want to give them out for all the things just because I always want to buy the pretty ones. Sugar Paper is my fave!!

  5. I LOVE stationery--I worked in a shop for a few years that sold nothing but notecards and wedding invites and birthday invites, and I was in heaven. I need some new notecards--thanks for some great ideas!

  8. I love to write (and receive) thank you cards! I also love little notecards and have a pretty box full of blank ones to drop in the mail to friends. Pre-kids I was really good at writing them. Now, not as much.

  10. I'm so terrible at sending thank you cards. After my wedding, I bought some super cute ones that, I agree, made me more excited to send them out. LOVE all of these cards!

  18. I'm so with you on handwritten cards! Nowadays most people don't write them anymore, and if they do, the cards are so generic and not pretty at all. I love the selection you picked out! :)

  19. I try and send thank you cards as often as possible. I do them more-so when I have some beautiful cards to write on. I currently have Hummingbird bakery ones with recipes on the back which I think is really cute.

The nautical striped ones stand out for me in this lot. Love them!

  22. Cards are beautiful! When I came to Ecuador the post service didn't work and most of our post got stolen. So I learnt not to send post anymore. Now I miss all those handwritten messages.
