Currently I'm Loving

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

The weather outside may be frightful, but I have found a few products this month that have been making it quite delightful. The cold weather has been messing with my skin making it WAY drier than usual. To combat the intense cold and wind, I have been using First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream and it has been amazing. Lightweight, quick to absorb and great at taking care of those itchy, dry spot right under my lips. Another cold weather favorite of mine has been the Formula X System To Go Party Edition. It's the perfect mini set for an at home manicure. I love that it's an easily transportable set of everything I need, from nail cleaner to top coat. When it gets cold outside, I'm all about the warm sweaters ad preferably adorable, like this one from J.Crew Factory. It makes me feel like I should be on the slopes or in a cabin with a big mug of hot chocolate. Check out some of the other products I have been loving this month below.

Lush Christmas 2015

The Lush Christmas 2015 collection is here and I've bene so excited to test out each and every new product. Some old favorites like cinders and golden wonder are back again and they're just as good as you remember. Cinders, made with cinnamon oil and crackling candy, makes you feel like you're warming up by your fireside. My two new favorites from the collection have been The Magic of Christmas bubble bar and the Yog Nog bath bomb. The Magic of Christmas, made with clove, star anise and cinnamon is one of the most festive bubble bars that I have seen come out of Lush. Seriously, it just smells exactly like spicy, cinnamony Christmas scent. I've already used it three times and it's not even close to being done yet so well worth the money. If you haven't already, definitely head to Lush to pick up some of their Holiday collection. It's the perfect excuse to treat yo' self.

Stocking Stuffers Gift Guide

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

I'm really big on opening stockings on Christmas morning. As a kid, It was always the first thing I opened on Christmas and it was always full of fun surprises. My mom was always great at filling our stockings with small little items that she knew each of us would each love. Now, I love being on the lookout for cute little items to throw in my boyfriend's stocking for Christmas and of course a few items that I would love to see in my own stocking this year! From bangles to polish, you have got to check out some of the holiday stocking stuffers I have been loving this year.

A Sweater for the Slopes

Monday, December 7, 2015

With all the chilly weather we've been having in San Francisco and a few pretty rainy days, I've been crazy excited to finally pull out my Hunter rain boots to pair with some of my favorite cozy weather sweaters. My favorite sweater lately has been this ski scene sweater from J.Crew Factory. Besides being super warm and cozy, the overall ski mountain scene that covers the front and back is beyond cute. It makes me feel like I should be hitting the slopes instead of heading to work in the morning. The sweater pairs well with a ton of my favorite cold weather looks, including this rainy day look that worked so well as we went to pick up our Christmas tree. I paired it with the ultimate in rainy day wellies, my Hunter 'packable' red boots and Hunter fleece wellie socks.
Along with picking up the perfect Christmas tree, I was excited to also pick up a Christmas wreath to hang on our red door for the holidays! It came with a big red velvet ribbon and was only $7! Home Depot, you rock.

Thanksgiving Day Outfit Inspiration

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Turkey day is almost here and I'm carefully packing up everything I need to enjoy my holiday. I'm heading to the midwest to spend Thanksgiving with J.P. and his family. It's the first Thanksgiving that I have ever not spent with my family, but I'm making an effort to bring a few of my favorite traditions with me. This includes spending the morning doing all my beauty prep for Thanksgiving, relaxing and watching the Thanksgiving day parade. This includes painting up my nails in a festive cranberry shade, a deep conditioning of my hair and trying out a new face mask to prep my skin.

For dinner, I like to mix in with the colors of the season. I like to pick out a dress that lets me won't get super too tight after eating a little too much at the dinner table. This stretchy Alice Ponte Dress is perfect for that. Along with the perfect stretchy dress, I also love to find the perfect products to have in my purse for quick touchups. One of my new favorite sets to always have in my purse is the LOC Clutch Collection Royal Flush from birchbox. I have been loving the Glam Life lipstick. It's a beautiful deep berry shade and pairs so well with the two shadow sticks that come with it. It makes putting on my Thanksgiving makeup a whole lot easier.

Packing for Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

I have finally started packing for my Thanksgiving weekend away. I usually need to think ahead to make sure I don't forget to pack any essential. Since we're going for a little bit longer than a weekend, I aiming to pack only the essentials needed for each day. Check out all my absolute necessities for a Thanksgiving weekend away!
1. Weekend Bag: Even though it's only a short trip, I still need a bag that's big enough to carry everything I might need, which tends to be a lot of things so I end up needing a big bag. This sunshine satchel from Tuckernuck can actually pack a whole lot. It's also has the added bonus of having the cutest monogram stitched on the side of the bag.
2. Noise Canceling Headphones: It's going to be a bit of a long flight and I have A LOT of work that I need to get done before the holiday so, along with pre-buying wifi for the plane, I also made sure to secure a pair of active noise canceling headphones. These are seriously the best headphones I have ever had. I can't believe I ever settled for the white iphone earbuds for long flights. I'm so ready to get a ton of work done so that I can be a bit more carefree and properly enjoy my vacation. I'm also making sure to download a ton of movies, tv shows and books on my iPad before we leave so I know that, even with poor wifi, I'll always have something to entertain me.
3. Travel Friendly Haircare: I can never seem to get enough of tiny cute kits. Anything mini-sized and I basically HAVE to have it. This kit has everything I need to keep my hair healthy and shiny during my trip.  It has both travel sized shampoo and conditioner, a leave in mist and even a sea salt spray to give myself some beachy waves.
4. Hot Rollers: I'm not a curler person. It's just way too much time and effort for me to sit and hold each area of hair. I'm too antsy of a person to be able to do all that so when I want to go curly, I always opt for hot rollers. I just got these voluminous hair hot rollers from T3 and I'm already loving them. They're compact enough that I can easily pack them in my travel bag. What I love the most is that they're super easy to use so I can roll up my hair and let the rollers do their job while I finish my makeup or get dressed.
5. Eye Mask: I can have trouble sleeping when it's not my own bed so I always make sure to bring an eye mask with me when I travel. It helps me keep my eyes closed and makes it a whole lot easier to sleep. Plus, the pattern on this one is just so cute!
6. Comfy Pajamas: I found these pajamas on J.Crew factory and I knew I already had to have them for the holidays. With a christmas light pattern, this two piece set with top and drawstring pants bottom will be super comfy to wear on Thanksgiving morning while I cook around the kitchen.
7. Cute Dress: Since I'm going to be spending Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family, I wanted to be a little dressed up for the big dinner. I love Boden dresses! They're perfect for long events, like a long Thanksgiving dinner. They're comfy and cute and are never too tight in the stomach area. (so necessary for eating seconds... or thirds!)
8. Eyeshadow and Lipstick Duo: For traveling, I always look for easy packable makeup products that can do double duty. I got a sample of this lipstick in the shade glam life in my latest birchbox and I loved the color. It was a deep berry shade and gave me some fun color for Fall. It made me want to try out their eyeshadow sticks. The videos make them look quick to apply and easy to blend, which makes it perfect for a quick makeup look before we put dinner on the table.
 9. Tinted Lip Balm: For the plane and for quick color touch ups along the way, I'm packing this tinted lip balm from Too Cool for School in the shade spilled wine, which is a rich burgundy shade. It will be great for applying a touch of quick color before I get off the plane. Don't want to look like a total mess when we touch down!

Sugar Paper for Target

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Christmas came early! Well, at least it did when it comes to all of the holiday wrapping paper at Target. I discovered Sugar Paper last year around the holidays and became completely obsessed with their holiday festive wrapping paper and gift tags. This year, they did a whole holiday collection with Target that is just chock full of holiday cheer. I may have gone a tad overboard and got A LOT of pieces from the collection, but can you blame me? Look how cute they are! Check out some of my favorites below!

The theme for this month's box is 'Feeling Fancy' and I think it's just on par for all the upcoming holiday parties! I really loved how diverse my box was this month. The other product from the box that I was so excited to try out was the Balm Frat Boy blush. I love these little mini blush boxes. Stock Up On Sweaters

Thursday, November 12, 2015

One of my favorite parts of fall, besides when the temperature dips and it finally gets chilly is when I finally get to pull out all of my favorite cosy sweaters. I have a a habit of stocking up on new sweaters every year to add to my ever growing collection, but this year I've kinda been blown away by how many cute sweaters I keep finding. (Seriously, I'm going to need a bigger closet soon.)

I always like my sweaters with a bit of pizazz so I go for bold colors, fun prints and cute embellishments. A sweater with a cute little pup or a taxi decal'd on the front beats a plain sweater any day of the week for me! And with the chilly weather here to stay, I've been making it a sort of uniform for me to pull out a colorful sweater and a pair of jeans or pants to match as my everyday look for work so that means I need A LOT of sweaters. Check out some of my sweater favorites from this year below.

Hostess Gift Guide

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

While this may seem a bit premature, my mailbox is already starting to see the tell tale colorful envelopes that contains invites to some fun holiday parties. With the calendar quickly filling up, I definitely know that I need to have the perfect gift to bring to each soirĂ©e and holiday get-together.

I've never been one to show up empty-handed, but I know how much time it can take to find the perfect hostess gift to bring with you to every event. For me, I like to stock up on a bunch of hostess gifts beforehand that work for almost every party. Check out some of my hostess favorites below.
Nest Holiday Candle - Candles are a great hostess gift for basically every event. In a delicious festive holiday scent, it's sure to bring a smile to her face when she finally lights it.
Peppermint Bark Syrup - Perfect for the hostess that loves her java, this syrup is great for adding to coffee, hot chocolate, you can even add a little to your tea. No need to make a Starbucks run when you can just add a splash of this to your hot chocolate at home. I'm definitely getting one of these for me as well.
Dessert Plates - This set of dessert plates is a great gift that a hostess will appreciate before the party is even over. She can use these to serve all the tasty desserts after dinner.
Aspen Needlepoint Pillow - I saw this pillow and immediately thought of like five hostesses that this gift would be perfect for. It's a little on the pricy side, but will really wow the recipient.
Lush Merry Christmas - I'm kind of a Lush addict so anyone who receives a gift like this from me this year will totally know I aim to convert them to loving Lush as much as me. After all the stress from planning, preparing and hosting, tell your hostess to go enjoy a relaxing bath with a ton of fun holiday accoutrements like bath bombs and bubble bars and Santa's dashing through the snow.
Peppermint Bark - No one brought dessert? No worries, your hostess gift has it covered. This box of festive peppermint bark is a delicious after-dinner treat that your hostess will definitely enjoy. Whether she shares any or not is a totally different story! ;)
The Bake Shoppe Bubble Bath & Shower Gel - If your hostess is very into the holidays (like me!), then she will love this bake shoppe bubble bath duo from Philosophy. She'll love the chance to relax in a sea of deliciously scented bubbles after the party is finally over.

Rainy Day Wear

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

I can finally bask in some official fall weather. We've had such a long Indian summer here in SF that I started to think I would never get the chance to pull out my cosy sweaters and weather prepped boots. Then finally, out of nowhere, I started to feel a chill in the air. Hurray!

Then, the rain started and I knew I needed to go out prepped and ready. It's been raining on and off for the past few days, which has put me in such a great mood lately. I have a serious thing for the rain... dark clouds, thunder, lightening, being cosy inside, etc. The rain gave me just the push I needed to pull out a few new rainy weather favorites.
I'm so happy it's finally cold enough to officially call it sweater weather. I can pull out and add to my collection of favorite fair isle sweater pullovers. My newest sweater favorite is from Lands End. It's a great sweater to bundle up in and wander around outside, enjoying a late brunch, but it's also light enough that it's perfect for layering. I definitely plan to layer it over a few button down shirts for work. The blue and black fair isle pattern on the top of the crewneck cut adds the perfect fun detailing and kinda makes me look like a little snow bunny, which I love. It makes me feel like I should be skipping work to hit the slopes.
With all that falling on and off, I knew I would need a thick jacket to keep me warm. I pulled out my new favorite cold weather coat that I picked up a few months back during the Nordstrom's Anniversary sale. With roped toggles (I'm toggle coat obsessed) and a hood to keep off the rain drops, it's perfect for layering up against rain or wind or snow.
As for rainy day footwear, I know I love my hunter wellies. They're packable, so comfy for long wear and are super cute to boot. But sometimes, I need something that's a little shorter and a little bit more rugged. That's where these dark Sperry saltwater duck boots come in. Another reason to get excited about rainy weather, these duck boots make you want to jump through poodles and run through snow. The quilted wool keeps my feet warm, dry and cosy and the rugged sole keeps me from any embarrassing slips, which let's face it, is SO necessary. All in all, I'm ready for you cold weather. Bring it on.

Flats, Flats, Flats

Wednesday, November 4, 2015

My walk to and from work involves one VERY large uphill. This means that heels tend to be a no-go when it comes to wearing to work. I've taken to keeping a pair in the office to change into, but in general heels are only something I throw on once in a while. When I got out shopping, I usually have my eye on flats that will stand out as much as any cute pair of heels.

Lately, I have been having the best luck in finding crazy amazing standout flats like these incredibly adorable taxi flats. Seriously, I want to wear them like everyday. Check out some of the other fancy flats that I have been drooling over lately.

Audible // I have been totally obsessed with audiobooks lately. Seriously, I've been listening to almost anything I can get my hands on. I think picking out great narrators is key because if it's a long book, which most are, you're going to be listening to them for a very long time. Audiobooks can get a little bit pricey, especially at the rate that I have been going through them so I signed up for Audible by Amazon. It's $15 a month with a free audiobook every month and 30% off all additional audiobooks. It's great for me because looking at some of the books in the iTunes store, some of them cost more than $50, crazy right?

Chai Lattes // I know everyone is all about the PSL, but for me it's all about the chai latte. There is this amazing spicy brew made in San Francisco called Tiger Chai and it has become my new morning  favorite. It's perfect for those who like their Chai's a little on the spicier side.

Boden Clothing // IT's FINALLY getting chillier in San Francisco and one look at my wardrobe tells me that I needed to stock up on some cold weather looks. Boden has always been one of my favorite shops to check out when the weather gets colder. They have the cutest dresses that are seriously comfortable and warm too! I have already bought a bunch of pieces for fall and winter and I know I'll be stocking up on a whole lot more.

La Croix Bubbly Water // I pretty much live off of this water. I'm not a huge fan of drinking water and I can never seem to remember to drink my daily 8 cups, but having a tastier flavored version that also has bubbles? It definitely makes it a whole lot easier to drink my daily fill. My new favorite thing is to find the crazier flavors like cherry lime.

Longchamp Le Pliage Large Tote // I already have a medium tote with the shorter strap, which I love, but for the everyday, I wanted something that could easily swing up on my shoulder for to and from work. Longchamps tote's are classic for a reason. The nylon makes it super durable and easy to clean off when you spill things on it (which I tend to do).

Cold Weather Accessories

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Temperatures start to dip and cold weather accessories became an absolute must when it comes to venturing outside. Caps, scarves, earmuffs and leggings are your new best friends when the temperature dips low enough, but who says function can't be fashionable?

While the weather in SF is still really warm, I'm definitely planning ahead for when the weather gets a big frightful. Scarves and gloves for walking to and from work, socks to keep me cozy at home and cloaks to keep me warm while working in the office. All the necessities I need in all the cutest colors and styles.  The absolute must on my wishlist right now is the Boden Helena cape. I want to drape this over my chair for whenever the air in my office takes a chilly turn. It's 100% wool and totally oversized, which makes it both chic and useful!

Minnie & Emma Fall Phone Cases

I rarely change the cases on my phone, but Minnie & Emma is definitely having me reconsider that. My phone cases from spring through the end of summer were from Kate Spade and I totally loved them, but when fall rolled around, I wanted a case that showed off the change of the season. Minnie & Emma has all the plaids and tartans you could ask for and more when it comes to cases.

What makes the cases even better is the ability to monogram them and personalize them to your tastes. I have yet to meet a monogram I didn't like so I was so excited to show off my initials on my new case. After looking through all of the amazing cases, I opted for a Buffalo Check red and black case with my full monogram on the bottom. I have gotten a million compliments on the case since I put it on my phone, which makes it worth the slightly hefty price tag. With all of the cute plaids and tartans for fall, I really can't wait to see what they pull out for the holidays. Soon, I'm going to need a new case for every month of the year!

Pumpkin Carving

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Pumpkin carving on a Sunday night becomes so much better when you go all out in festiveness. With less than a week until Halloween, I definitely waited until the last minute possible to cross this off my October bucket list, but thankfully, the little shop next door to our house had everything we need to make it perfect, starting with pumpkins.

I'm one of those people who will look through like 40 pumpkins to find the perfect one, but I found the perfect one immediately at the shop next door. The shop also had a special running on beer and cider so we stocked up on some of each to carve with, including pumpkin beer!
I always get super excited for a chance to pull out my projector and a pumpkin carving party was the perfect time to pull it out and watch Hocus Pocus while we carved.
I have an obsession with mac & cheese and an even bigger obsession with festive mac & cheese so when I finally found mac & cheese in Halloween shapes, I immediately bought four boxes. It went perfectly with our pumpkin beer and hard apple ciders.
Af for the carving, I opted for Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas and my bf went for the classic jack o' lantern face. We are so ready for Halloween!

Did you get a chance to carve a pumpkin for Halloween? What look did you go for?

Halloween Costumes

Monday, October 26, 2015

It can always be hard to find the perfect Halloween look that is work appropriate, comfortable for all day wear and is still cute to wear out on Halloween. I always end up waiting until the last minute and getting something plasticy, itchy, uncomfortable adult version of a well known costume. This year though, I definitely think I upgraded my look.

I found this amazing Etsy shop that creates handmade costumes that are perfect for Halloween. Lola Nova makes these super cute Disney themed costumes that are tailored to fit you. While browsing for Halloween decor, I stumbled upon the shop and immediately loved her take on the snow mountain Anna outfit from Frozen. Made of a thick fabric that is also stretchy, it's perfect for all day wear. The cut also makes it totally work appropriate and doesn't have that annoying plasticy fabric that most costumes have. As soon as I bought the dress, which I did less than five minutes after I saw it, I realized that while the sizing might be a bit off so I quickly emailed Lola, the shop owner. She was SO nice and immediately offered to resize the dress for me to ensure it fit perfectly before sending. Seriously, so nice!

After I bought the dress, I immediately went to find one or two other pieces to finish off the outfit. Our office is big on Halloween, which means everyone dresses up. The dress is long enough that it's totally work appropriate, but our office can get really cold in the middle of the day. I found this awesome pink cloak on amazon that fits the Anna look. It's supposed to be for kids, but after looking at a few of the reviews, I saw that it was WAY too long for a kid and perfect for an adult. It's a little snug around the neck, but it will definitely keep me cozy in the office. Having red hair immediately makes the braids an easy how to so the last piece I needed was a pair of boots. I have these super cute riding boots from Modcloth that are great to finish off the look. I've never been so excited to get all dressed up for Halloween.

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Commuting to and from work, I spent about an hour a day on the train. Then, there's the 10 minutes each way it takes to walk from the train to my office and back again. All in all, I spend about a hour and a half commuting to and from work. My newest favorite way to use that time is to listen to a few chapters of a book. Usually, I like to read an actual book to and from work, but I hate when you get to that really great place in a book that you just don't want to put down and then you hit your stop. Putting the book down seems practically impossible and this is when I came up with the idea to have both the book and audiobook so I never have to miss out on finishing that amazing chapter.

The only problem is that audiobooks can be a bit expensive. I've seen them range from $10 to almost $40 and that's just way too high for the way I go through books. This is why I was so stoked when I discovered Audible. For $15 a month, I get a credit for any audiobook I want plus 30% off all other books. Even better, their trial period gives you a free month and two free books. It actually makes me excited to get on the bus! Another thing I'm loving about Audible is that it's not just audiobooks, but they also have these crazy dramatizations of classics like The Wind in the Willows and The Lord of the Rings so it's great for helping me fall asleep at night. I'm so excited to  be able to pull out my phone everyday and go right back to my next book.

Birchbox October Unboxing

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

October's Birchbox is all about harnessing the power of beauty and inspiring confidence. My box this month was a whole new array of products that I haven't gotten a chance to try before so I'm really excited to try out all these new products. Check out what I got in this month's box!
What's in my box:
- 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment
- CLEAN White Woods
- Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Highlighter
 - Caudalie Make-up Remover Cleansing Water
- Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
- Benefit Roller Lash Super Curling and Lifting Mascara
I saw the packaging for this company a while back and just loved it. I know they say don't judge a book by its cover, but the packaging on these korean products is so fun and artistic that you can't help, but imagine the products inside are fun too!

I am quite a big fan of the Neutrogena face wipes for removing all stubborn makeup. But I will never say no to trying something new like the Caudalie cleansing water. I'm really excited to give it a try, especially when I consider the smell. I love the herbal scent that most Caudalie products have. It sounds like such a soothing way to help relax me after a long day.

Pumpkin Scented Everything...

Monday, October 19, 2015

It's Fall so I'm pretty much obsessed with pumpkin scented everything. Pumpkin lotions, pumpkin face masks, pumpkin soaps, pumpkin candles, pumpkin tea, etc. I just can't get enough so when I found a whole line of cute pumpkin scented beauty products on Etsy, I was sold in like two seconds. I opted to get the pumpkin spice soap duo in oatmeal and goat's milk, a pumpkin pie whipped soap and a pumpkin pie candle that has a crackling wood wick. Yup, I'm pretty much in pumpkin scented heaven.
I was a little skeptical of the Pumpkin Pie scented candle because I had never used a candle with a crackling wood wick before. I was not disappointed. It definitely takes a try or two to light and stay lit, but don't lose patience. It's totally worth it. It definitely crackles, a little quietly, but I ended up loving it for a completely different reason, the light. Yup, totally weird I know. The flickering light the candle gives off totally reminds you of the type of light you would see flickering in a fireplace.

I have wanted my own fireplace for forever now, but it's definitely not something you'll usually find in San Francisco. I love that this candle will give me a little flickering fire whenever I light it.

Getting three different kinds of pumpkin soap can seem like overkill, but they are all amazing in their own way. The whipped pumpkin soap is perfect as a shave lotion substitute and smells just like you would imagine a pumpkin pie crust to smell. Perfect win-win.

The Pumpkin Spice soap bars are perfect for in shower use with my favorite loofah. The oatmeal soap is great on my sensitive skin and left it oh-so-soft. Since I had so many soap products to try, I gave the Pumpkin Spice Goat's Milk soap to my boyfriend to use. His skin can get a little dry and goat's milk is great for moisturizing.

My Skincare Routine

Thursday, October 15, 2015

I have crazy combination skin that is also super sensitive so finding skincare products that work for me has always been a bit difficult. Usually, a product will work great for the first couple of days and then, out of nowhere, my skin will start freaking out. I'm talking massive breakouts, dry patches, the works. It hasn't stopped me from trying new products, but it definitely keeps me from ever calling something a holy grail product. Each of the products I currently use have been in my rotation for almost a year now and I couldn't imagine giving any of them up.

I always start my routine with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It's a great everyday exfoliant that doesn't strip your skin or leave it super dry. It also smells awesome, very herbal and soothing. I love that using the muslin cloth means I don't have to splash water on my face. Afterwards, in lieu of a toner, I spray some Evian mineral water all over my face. It's a quick wake up for a sleepy morning. I dap on a bit of Algenist Eye Renewal Balm, the only eye cream I've found that actually lightens my dark circles. Finishing up my morning routine, I moisturize with Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve face cream. It gives the perfect amount of moisture without feeling overly greasy.

Masks are a complete essential in my skincare routine. When my face is having a breakout freakout, I always use the PTR Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. The big tub lasts you such a long time, it has an amazing pumpkin smell that is perfect for this time of year and it does an amazing job of declogging and cleaning up my skin. I always notice a difference the next morning. With winter coming up, I know I'll be needing a super moisturizing mask to make up for the cold dry weather. For that, I always go for Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. It banishes dry patches, smells wonderful and doesn't make you feel like your'e caking anything on.

Etsy Finds

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I love Etsy in phases. There will be weeks, months where I don't look at it at all and then there will be  days, weeks, months where I'm checking it almost everyday, finding something cute, adorable and handmade that I just need to have. Whether it's adorable new stickers for my Erin Condren life planner (I LOVE stickers) or pumpkin pie scented candles that come with a crackling wood wick (seriously, it's like having your own fireplace)! I've been on an intense Etsy kick lately and have been coming across some of the cutest finds. I just wanted to share a few of the cute pieces that I have been coveting lately.

It's finally fall and finally October so I've been going a bit overboard with everything seasonal lately. I type that as I watch Halloween movie classics and sip on a cup of pumpkin chai tea (yup, it's fall-tactic). Check out some of the products below that I've been really loving lately.
With the weather starting to get chilly, it's been getting harder and harder for me to get out of bed in the morning. One of the only things that pushes me out is the thought of getting to make a big mug of David Rio Club Chai tea. I've always loved a good chai tea, but I've found it hard to find a company that makes a mix to my liking. I like mine a little spicy and very cinnamony. I warm 1 part of the brew with 1 part milk in a small pan and instantly have a chai that tastes just like I had a barista whip up the perfect one for me everytime. SO GOOD.

When I'm at work, it seems like everyone has their headphones on all day and I can understand why. It makes it so much easier to get through your daily workload when you get into that zone where you can block out everything else. Lately though, my headphones just haven't been getting it. I have been using the white in ear headphones that came with my iPhone and I don't know about you, but after awhile those definitely start to hurt my ears. As someone who just needs to plug in, zone everyone else out and just get stuff done, this didn't work for me so I finally invested the money to get an amazing pair of headphones. After some tech chat with a few friends and my boyfriend, I was convinced to get the Bang & Olufsen H8 Headphones. They're bluetooth enabled and wireless with a built in mic, great noise canceling capabilities and they have touch gestures on the side that let me change songs, pause and control the volume without ever touching my phone. All in all, they're pretty amazing and if you're looking to invest in a really good pair of headphones, you should definitely check them out. They're pricey, but hey you're ears are worth it!

The bipolar weather we have been having in San Francisco has been really playing a number on my skin. The only thing that seems to be keeping it under any kind of control lately is the PTR Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. It really does smell like pumpkin and I notice the results literally the morning after I use it. The texture and clarity of my skin is just ten times better than it was before. It also comes in a huge tub so it will be a LONG time before I run out which is nice for my wallet.

It's really nice to start my morning at the office with a cup of tea, but what's been making my morning tea even better lately is the Belvita Pumpkin Spice breakfast biscuits. They're the perfect breakfast on the go and they taste amazing. I've tried a bunch of the flavors, but I have to say my current addiction is the pumpkin spice seasonal one. I could a whole box in no time at all.

I've been so excited that it's finally fall and finally October, but I've been so busy lately that I hadn't had anytime to decorate and when I did pull them out, I found my decorations to be severely lacking. Thankfully, my sister and I had planned a trip to Target and I was able to find the cutest fall decor pieces and all under $5! Seriously, one of the most expensive pieces of decor I found was a the $3 black typography sign below so I was able to stock up on a ton of cute pieces without breaking the bank. If you haven't checked out your local Target yet for cute fall decor, you definitely need to, like now.

Boden Clothing Fall 2015

Monday, October 12, 2015

I've been obsessed with Boden Clothing for quite awhile now, ever since I spotted this gingham dress on a fellow blogger and immediately knew it was a complete must have. Boden is a British clothing line, but their pieces always seem to perfectlu fit my preppy and feminine style. I tend to get particularly obsessed with their fall/winter lines.

The British know a thing or two about staying stylish when the weather gets chilly. I've already placed an order with a few must haves for fall including this super cute plaid skirt! I mean, come on, how could I not? I also love how fun some of their accessories are, like this adorable taxi purse (um, it also comes in london bus red)! I've formulated a very long wish list so I can pick up a whole new slew of pieces during their next sale. If you're looking for some closet inspiration of your own, check out my Boden Clothing fall wish list below.

Wedding Attire

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

I'm already thinking about my weekend plans and this weekend, my plan involves a wedding. My friend and former co-worker Rahul is getting married and I am so excited to attend. He's Indian so the wedding will be a little bit different than I'm used to, but I'm crazy excited to see all the different traditions. I wasn't sure what the attire was, so I erred on the side caution and decided to go with classic black.

Now classic doesn't have to mean boring and this dress is anything, but boring. You definitely make a statement in this LBD with the overlay of black lace and cream colored tulle. Rent the Runway is a must for anyone who goes to at least a few big events a year. I would definitely also recommend getting the Pro account. A free dress on your birthday, free shipping whenever you rent and you always have dress insurance. A definite must if you have a ton of events to attend every few months.  I'm pairing the dress with a pair of pointy toe black pumps from J.Crew. They're comfy enough that I can walk around in them and make the rounds for most of the day without desperately needed to take a seat (oh so important for a wedding).

As soon as I picked the dress, I knew the perfect purse to pair with the look was my Kate Spade Mini Maise. I can't never seem to get enough of its cute mini-ness. It goes with practically every outfit I own. I wanted to add some sparkly flair with this crystal bib necklace from BaubleBar. With my outfit all planned out and ready to go, I know my boyfriend and I are going to have an amazing time. Congrats to Rahul & Avni!

All the Pumpkin Products

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

Pumpkin may be in every scone, muffin, cracker and pie around right now, but it's also in a ton of yummy smelling products that all pumpkin lovers really should try. I've always been a big of fan of pumpkin in practically everything. On particularly stressful days, I let myself overdose in pumpkin scented everything from shower gels to face masks to pumpkin scented candles and tea. Check out some of my pumpkin scented favorites.

The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme mask works like a dream making your skin super soft all the while smelling like pumpkin pie. Seriously, it's probably one of my favorite face masks ever. It's one of the only masks that works well with my sensitive skin and continually works on improving. I'm also kinda obsessed with the entire Pumpkin Marshmallow Latte line from Bath & Body Works. I basically smell like a combination of  pumpkin and brown sugar all day long. Layering the lotion and fragrance mist is definitely the key to all day wear. If you're as pumpkin obsessed as I am, then you definitely need to pick up a few of my products favorites below.

Mad about Plaid

Monday, October 5, 2015

Okay, truth time. I may have a slight obsession with plaid. Maybe slightly more than a slight obsession. Jackets, purses, scarves, even phone cases. I just can't seem to get enough of any of it. The pattern itself seems to signify fall and winter so now is the perfect time to load up.

To be honest, sometimes plaid patterns can come off as slightly masculine so I like to do my best to add a feminine flair. Sometime that means pairing my favorite plaid button down with a sparkly statement necklace or pairing it with my favorite black pencil skirt. Check out some of my plaid pattern favorites below! I plan to add many of these to my closet very soon.

Instagram Fall Style

Thursday, October 1, 2015

Fall is creeping up on me. I can't believe it's already October! It's the start of cooler weather and fall wardrobes. I've been stocking up on some of my favorite fall essentials and thinking about my favorite pieces from last fall. I took to looking to some of my favorite outfits combos from last fall that I showed off on instagram. They're looks that I basically wore as my daily uniform last year so it's a safe bet to say I will be pulling them out again this year! I love looks that last season after season. I can't wait to go shopping again for cozier pieces to add to my fall looks. Check out some of my favorites looks from last year below and be sure to follow me on instagram to check out new looks from this fall.

Lemon Yellow Dress

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

So I know summer is officially over, but no one seems to have told San Francisco. The days have been warm and the skies have been super sunny, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's the perfect excuse to pull out any last minute warm weather items and get as much use out of them as I can. That definitely includes this lemon yellow bow back dress from Nordstroms!
I paired the dress with my comfiest cream shawl neck sweater from J.Crew, my Kate Spade Mini Maise and pointy toe polka dot flats from Sole Society
Dress (old, similar) // Sweater (old, similar) // Shoes (old, similar) // Purse
Look at those cute little bows in the back. It totally reminds me of Kate Spade girly-esque. I totally love it.

Sephora Holiday Head Start

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Now I know that it's crazy early to be thinking about the holidays, but I'm a girl who likes to be prepared. That means stocking up on all the necessary gifts, and an extra few for those I forget about, ahead of time and never having to deal with the last minute freak out with forgetting a gift. Sephora seems to be WAY ahead of the game here releasing a whole slew of amazing gift sets and kits, perfect for every beauty lover in your life. Seriously, some of these kits are so tempting, I'm thinking of buying a few extra for myself!

The Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream ornament is so cute, but I would be tempted by anything that's miniature and hangs on a Christmas tree. Plus, it's my absolute favorite when it comes to moisturizers. I'm also super tempted by the Philosophy Christmas Cookbook Set. It comes with four mini bottle of delicious holidays scents from pumpkin icing to cinnamon buns. Every shower would make me excited to celebrate the season! If you're someone who likes to be totally stocked up on holiday gifts, check out some of my favorites below and get to shopping.
