I spent Memorial Day weekend in Southern California, mostly splitting my time between Anaheim and Palm Springs.
I got to watch the sun set right as I got off the plane so I took a quick snapshot. It's so funny that it looks like an exclamation point after the the virgin america plane and the beautiful sunset. It perfectly sums up my excitement for being on vacation.
We spent all day Saturday hanging out at Disney's California Adventure, going on rides and eating delicious food. It was a lot of fun to watch my boyfriend's reaction to the bright lights you see when they open the doors in the top of the Tower of Terror at Disney's California Adventure.
My very sweet boyfriend had roses sent to our hotel room in Palm Springs on Sunday to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. To make it even more special, we ordered a bottle of champagne and fries from room service while we enjoyed the sun and warm weather. 85 degrees and sunny!
For the past two years, my bf and I have always stayed at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs for our anniversary. I have to say it is one of my absolutely favorite spots to spend a couple days relaxing. I get to sit by the pool all day enjoying poolside snacks and drinks that I can order from my deck chair while I read my latest book or flip through some magazines, occasionally taking a quick dip in the pool. We always get a room that has an outdoor private patio with a fireplace so we can enjoy room service outside, enjoying the warm weather.
The hotel is located in the desert of Palm Springs so it has an amazing view of the mountains and hills around the desert.
Before we went back to the airport, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Gjelina in Venice Beach. It's one of our favorite lunch spots when we are in L.A. It was such a relaxing vacation that I found myself wishing I had a few more days to spend by the pool in Palm Springs. I could definitely use another long vacation.
How did you spend your long Memorial Day weekend?
